Taking your yoga practice outside is the best way to connect with nature and come back to the real meaning of yoga : Union. Union with your body, your mind, but also with humanity and nature.
While yoga nowadays is mainly practiced indoors, summer makes it even more enjoyable to practice outside, especially if you choose a beautiful natural setting. And the great news is Barcelona is filled with stunning places where you can roll out your mat and enjoy your yoga practice in a totally different dimension.

Bunkers del Carmel
Located in the neighborhood of El Carmel, these bunkers were once part of anti-aircraft battery during the Spanish Civil War and still offer an amazing view over the city.
To get there, you can take either the V17 or 86 buses.
Park Güell
As the most iconic park of Barcelona, Park Güell is a must see if you’re visiting the capital city of Catalonia. But it’s also a great place to practice yoga outdoors, especially if you head to the upper part of the park, to the Virolai viewpoint where you will find a flat area to roll out your mat.
To get there, take the L3 metro to Plaça Lesseps or Vallcarca or L5 to El Coll i La Teixonera.
Barceloneta beach
If you are looking for a beach practice, you will have plenty of choice on the 5 kilometers long coastline in Barcelona. The best spot is probably in the Barceloneta neighborhood, on the boardwalk next to the iconic W Hotel, with enough space to move freely on your mat (and no sand).
To get there, take the L4 metro to Barceloneta or D20 bus.
Ciutadella Park
Located in the heart of the city, Ciutadella Park is another iconic park and makes a great playground for a yoga practice under the shade of the trees. It can get busy during the day so make sure to go early in the morning to enjoy a peaceful practice. You will probably meet other yogis and a lot of people exercising.
To get there take L1 metro to Arc de Triomf or L4 metro to Ciutadella-Vila Olimpica.
Montjuic – Teatre Grec
Located on Montjuic mountain, the greek theatre is an open-air theatre built in 1929 by Ramon Reventós for the Barcelona Expo. If you are looking for a unique yoga experience, then take your mat to the stage and enjoy your drama like practice ! They are also other great places to practice on Montjuic mountain, like the Gardens or the Castle area.
To get there, take the Cable car from Parallel metro station.
